About

The Full Story

I created this site so that all of the members of the world who are unique and authentic have a safe place to celebrate all the wonderful eccentricities that make each of us a work of art.  We live in a world filled with expectations and titles. We are constantly pressured to live within the constraints and definitions of others without ever being given permission to be our true unique selves.  This blog is for those of us who have struggled to conform.  Those of us who have been weighed down by the expectations of others and struggle with insecurity, anxiety, depression and fear.  Here you can be yourself.  Here, within these boundaries you can "Own Your Crazy" and celebrate yourself without apology or without censure.  I want each of us to "Live our very best life".

Who am I:

I am a person of contradictions.

  • I walk slow but drive fast.

  • I operate on Caribbean time, so I’m late everywhere even though I break the light-speed barrier to get there.

  • I drive aggressively listening to DMX but mellow out at work with the divine Etta James.

  • My dogs are my life and I treat them like the children I'll never have and have never wanted.

  • My home is immaculate but my car hasn’t been washed in at least 6 months.

  • I’ve lost my accent (I was born in the Bahamas) and I’m pissed because my mother (who is from Georgia) sounds more Bahamian than I do.

  • You may think I'm an extrovert because of my profession but I’m an introvert by birth.

  • I wish I was taller so I tend to wear high heels and date tall men.

  • I love to have deep and profound conversations about spirituality and the meaning of life but I also love to watch inane comedies like Archer and the Family Guy.

  • I’m a great cook but I generally use that talent only to cook dinner for my dogs.

  • I collect original art but I’m not patient enough to become an artist.

  • I think I’m pretty special but I also think that most people are special as well.

  • I like to find the good in people and I’m not often disappointed.

  • Even though I'm a little crazy, slightly weird, a science fiction nerd, a Pittie Mom and a Planty Momma  I'm proud to say that I haven't crossed over the line to insanity (yet)  and I'm absolutely okay with that.
